Our Sedation Options

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas): 

This is a mild form of sedation administered through a small silicone nose piece. It induces a feeling of relaxation and euphoria, allowing you to stay conscious, calm and aware throughout the procedure.  This method is most appropriate for those who are generally calm in the dental chair but may experience some nervousness.  It is a great method to simply enjoy the process a little more.

Oral Sedation: 

In this approach, you'll be prescribed an oral sedative to take before your appointment, either . It produces a deeper level of relaxation, and while you'll still be conscious, most of our patients drift off to sleep during the appointment and most have limited memory of the procedure afterwards. The oral sedation dentistry method is appropriate for the majority of our patients (including children, with our oral sedation pediatric dentistry services) as it allows them to receive their necessary dental work in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

General Anesthesia: 

For more complex procedures, medical necessity, accessibility restraints or cases where severe anxiety is involved, we offer general anesthesia. Often times, this is the most appropriate method for children (pediatric sedation dentistry) and people with severe anxiety/phobias, restricted mouth opening interfering with accessibility, or inability to achieve tooth anesthesia (numbing).  This ensures that you'll be completely asleep throughout the procedure, and you'll wake when the procedure is complete.  We team with licensed and experienced anesthesia professionals to bring the service into our office.
